Kimberly Schmidt, CHHA
Meridian At Home- Brick, NJ
Brookdale Community College

Kimberly Schmidt has been a home health aide since 2012. She works with hospice patients and is said to put people at ease as soon as they meet her. She is competent in all aspects of care but her strongest attribute is her kindness and compassion, a must for anyone working in Hospice.

Kim feels that being a home health aide has prepared her to become a nurse. She is pursuing a career as a professional registered nurse because she “gets a wonderful feeling by helping people and sees nursing as a life-long path to learning”. She plans to work in the hospice field and hopes to pursue a graduate degree in order to become a nurse educator. Her dream is to teach future nursing students. She looks forward to seeing where nursing will take her as there are “so many avenues and I am open to see where my strengths lie and to following the path that best utilizes them.”

Kim’s professor commends her work ethic and attention to detail and highlights her therapeutic communication skills and her outstanding academic accomplishments. Kim is a member of the Alpha Delta Nu chapter of the Nursing Student Honor Society. Congratulations Kim!
