2018 Home Health & Hospice Survey Program

Home Health and Hospice agencies are surveyed by the Department of Health’s Division of Health Facility Survey & Field Operations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, clinical practice and documentation.  Every year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) update the surveyors’ role and agencies’ responsibilities in terms of performance outcomes, quality improvement and patient services. 

 

This program is essential for new managers, administrators and quality improvement clinicians.  Learn what the survey process is all about from the experts who conduct the inspections.  This is a great opportunity to ask important questions and get the straight answers!

 

This year, learn more and get an update on Hospice surveys, trends with deficiencies, and what hospices need to know about CMS’s ongoing initiative to re-establish routine timely hospice surveys.  This interactive program will highlight how NJ is “doing” in comparison to the rest of the country, provide some mock-survey scenarios, review the requirements for the creation of a plan of correction, discuss sample staff interview questions, and receive examples of the exact documents used by the NJ Department of Health- Licensing and Survey Evaluation Team.
