Michael Brown, Division Director
BAYADA Home Health Care
Mike received his Nursing Degree from Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA in 1990. Since graduation, he has been working as a Registered Nurse in many areas of the health care delivery systems, progressing in responsibility to his present role as a Division Director for BAYADA Home Health Care. He continued his education, earning a B.A. in Psychology from DeSales University in Center Valley, PA and a M.S. in Health Care Administration.
His first position after graduation from nursing school was at Sacred Heart Hospital (www.shh.org), in Allentown, PA, where he worked for over 7 years in the Emergency Department. He completed his Certification in Emergency Nursing (www.ena.org), and several other continuing education programs (ACLS, APLS, Neo-Natal Resuscitation, TNCC, PHRN) in order to advance his knowledge and career in this area of specialization.
After leaving the emergency setting, Mike’s career direction changed, assuming a role in the home infusion industry. He worked for several VNA’s, providing management oversight to the home infusion aspect of care. This entry into management provided a solid foundation in leadership principals, and allowed his career to advance into the Director role in the home health care area. Mike also worked for several years in the Medical Products industry, where he was Product Manager for Needle-free Safety Products, managing over $500 Million in sales on an annual basis.
Mike’s passion is truly in home care, where he has managed Home Health, Hospice and Home Care services in several states as a Regional Director, Vice President of Operations and in his current role as Division Director for BAYADA Home Health Care, Inc. At BAYADA, Mike provides oversight to 11 offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, providing Home and Community Services to the Medicaid and underserved populations. Mike’s goal is to provide long-term in home supportive care, as well as Private Duty Nursing care, to prevent the need for long term care placement of clients. Mike has served on the Public Policy Committee at the Pennsylvania Home Care Association and currently serves on the NJ Home Care & Hospice Association Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee. He leads the Medicaid Work Group for the Association, where he continuously advocates for consumers, protecting and enhancing the services provided.
In his free time, Mike enjoys RV trips with his husband and rescued pups, Jett and Eli. He also loves baseball (go Phillies) and golf (Phil Mickelson). He volunteers at his Church, serving as Elder on the Consistory.
