Listed below are the working committees of HOMECARENJ. They assist HOMECARENJ in the development of all HOMECARENJ activities as well as provide incomparable opportunities for learning from and getting to know colleagues.
Annual Meeting Advisory Group:
Meets to plan and implement the Association's Annual Meeting and conference
formats, themes, and content.
Billing Manager's Network Steering Committee:
Meets monthly to plan educational opportunities and informational materials
for the billing Managers of the HOMECARENJ member agencies.
Education Advisory Committee:
An industry advisory group coordinated by the Director of Education and Clinical
Practice to review and advise regarding educational programs and topics for
the Assembly to promote and support for the members.
Ethics Committee:
Meets regularly to review and formulate positions and strategies regarding ethical
issues of concern to home care, and assist in member education related to ethical
issues.
Finance/Personnel Committee:
Appointed by the Board, this committee meets regularly to advise the HOMECARENJ
and Board regarding internal financial and personnel issues of the Association.
Fiscal Advisory Committee:
Meets regularly to review and strategize concerning reimbursement and financial
operations issues. This committee is directed to agency CFO's, CEO's, And Fiscal
Advisors. Those interested in the operational aspects of reimbursement and billing
are invited to participate in the Billing Manager's Network Steering Committee.
Home Health Aide Committee:
The newest of our association sub-units, this committee was approved
by the Board in January 2001. This committee provides oversight & recommendations
to the Board, as well as information to the membership, on the full scope of
issues, regulations, education, etc., impacting the delivery of home health
aide services.
Legislative Committee:
Meets regularly to review with Assembly lobbyist all pending legislation of
potential impact on home care in NJ to determine appropriate responses, to plan
necessary action, and assist in lobbying and legislative contact efforts.
Membership Committee:
Meets regularly to develop membership policies, identify strategies to promote
growth, and implement plans to provide effective response to member needs.
Professional Practice Committee:
Meets regularly to address practice-related issues, develop positions and strategies
to improve and maintain quality in home care services.
Reviews and discusses issues related to home care and hospice agency corporate
compliance and risk management. Task forces reporting to this committee are:
1) Psych-Mental Health. 2) Nurse Delegation. 3) Regulatory Affairs Workgroup.
Quality Network:
A committee formed from interest through Professional Practice to address quality
issues, develop positions and strategies to improve and maintain quality care
in home care. Subcommittees reporting to this committee are: OASIS/ PPS Issues,
Infection Control Benchmarking, and Patient Classification.
Social Work Committee:
All member social workers are invited to participate. The committee meets 5
times a year for a "Bring Your Own Business Lunch" of discussion,
education, and peer support. Meetings are held at the Home Care Association
of New Jersey, Princeton Junction. Call the Association for meeting dates/places
and education topics. Social work CEH’s are awarded for attendance.
Strategic Planning Committee:
Appointed by the Board of Directors, this committee plays a major role in assessing
industry and state association trends, and planning for future directions of
the Home Health Assembly.
Technology Committee:
Assists the Board to assess and develop strategies for use of new technologies
to meet HOMECARENJ member needs, as well as home health industry information
system technologies and data needs. Provides opportunities for member education
& networking on MIS and technology issues.
