Private Duty Workshop: Accreditation as a Tool for Success 

Faculty: Jacqueline King, MBA, MHA, Director of Accreditation, Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP)

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to:

1. Understand what Accreditation is and its organizational benefits

2. Discuss how accreditation can help better position a private duty organization in a competitive marketplace 

3. Examine common pitfalls and stumbling blocks when seeking Accreditation and how to avoid them


What is accreditation and how can it can help to better position your organization in a competitive marketplace?  In this half-day workshop, attendees will gain an understanding of the accreditation process and examine common pitfalls and stumbling blocks when seeking accreditation -- and how to avoid them. Attendees will be led through the accreditation process and timelines, including timeframe for final decisions, plans of corrections, and/or additional site visits.  They will gain a greater understanding of the resources available before, during and after the accreditation process. All these modules and more will have attendees confident in their accreditation knowledge and the value it has on sustaining compliance and the quality it brings to their care.  

Participants will understand what is private duty accreditation and its benefits for compliance strategies, quality care and additional overall organization benefits

3 Nursing contact hours are approved for this program

Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by NJSNA, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.  Provider # P148 – 10/2018
