  • A representative of Compassion & Choices to be named.
  • Sal M. Anderton, Esq., is Legislative Director for Porzio Governmental Affairs.  He led the seven-year effort on behalf of Compassion & Choices to pass Medical Aid In Dying in New Jersey.  Mr. Anderton's background includes serving as legislative counsel for Assemblyman John McKeon, who currently serves as Chairman of the Assembly Judiciary Committee.  He has been an adjunct professor of law and political science at Montclair State University for over 10 years.  Mr. Ansderton earned a dual degree in philosphy and political science from Montclair State University and his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.


- Provisions of the “aid in dying” bill, which takes effect August 1.

- Issues related to the law to be considered by healthcare agencies in developing policies and communicating the program to patients and families.


- Describe the requirements which must be met in order for patients to avail themselves of medical aid-in-dying.

- Describe what is not required and what is not allowed by the “Aid in Dying” law in New Jersey.

- Describe the history and experience of “Death with Dignity” in Oregon and Washington.
