The Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ team supports our membership to advance the mission of the Association. 


Donald L. Pendley, M.A., CAE, CFRE, APR
Director of Hospice and Palliative Care

Don Pendley was President of the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization from 1993 to 2016, and continues to serve and represent hospice agencies from around the state for the Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization; as Chairman of the National Council of State Hospice Organizations; and as Chairperson of the State Hospice Organization Executive Roundtable. Here in New Jersey, he has been President of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives and President of Community Health Charities of New Jersey. He holds an M.A. in journalism from Syracuse University, a B.A. in English and political science from Montclair State and lives in Scotch Plains.



       Susan Manders
  Administrative Assistant

Susan Manders is the Administrative Assistant with the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ.  Susan has been with the Association since 2010 and in her role is frequently the first point of contact for our office. Additionally, she is responsible for managing registrations, maintaining all databases, supporting membership retention and recruitment efforts, providing excellent client service, assisting in event planning, as well as providing other administrative support. 

Susan attended Franklin & Marshall College where she obtained her BA in Studio Art. She subsequently worked as a curator in an art gallery, and then as a corporate art consultant for several years. Prior to joining the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ, Susan completed a program in medical coding and billing and earned her Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credential. Susan has worked in the healthcare industry in various capacities. 

          Katie Wehri, Consultant

Wehri is Director of Operations Consulting for Healthcare Provider Solutions, Inc. (HPS) She joined HPS in 2017 to develop and provide hospice and home care educational opportunities, conduct operational reviews and work with the HPS clinical team on mock surveys and chart reviews.

Wehri, with more than 25 plus years in the hospice, home health, private duty and palliative care industries and is certified by the Health Care Compliance Association in health care compliance and health care privacy compliance. She has worked with multiple state and national associations to expand assist members with Hospice regulatory, operations, financial and legislative issues. She has written numerous articles and provided workshops and seminars for these associations. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Wehri received her Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration. Wehri spent 16 years working with homecare and hospice agencies with the majority of those years in a Director’s role, prior to starting a consulting practice in 2009.

Wehri has been consulting, presenting and educating in the home care and hospice industry since 2009. She has worked for hospices in a variety of settings, including multiple locations in multiple states, a hospice inpatient unity, pediatric hospice and adult and pediatric palliative care. Wehri has gained valuable experience in the following areas:

*Health care regulation

*Opening and expanding sites for home care, hospice and palliative care services
